London, UK –ISACA, a global professional association helping individuals and organisations in their pursuit of digital trust, is proud to announce its contribution to the UK Cyber Security Council's recently launched Cyber Security Certification Framework.

The Certification Framework, built upon the Cyber Body of Knowledge (CyBOK), is designed to help cyber security professionals identify certifications that can support their career progression and specialization. The framework covers 16 specialisms, each mapped to specific knowledge areas within the CyBOK, and matches each of these with relevant certifications and training. This makes it easier for cyber professionals to understand what certifications they need to attain a role within different specialist areas at any stage of their career.

Chris Dimitriadis, Global Chief Strategy Officer, ISACA, comments: “ISACA is proud to be a part of this initiative. The mapping of ISACA credentials within the Certification Framework provides a clear path for all certified cybersecurity professionals in the UK who are seeking alignment with the specialisms developed by the UK Cybersecurity Council. At ISACA, we are dedicated to helping reduce the skills gap and empower cyber security professionals with the relevant certifications to support a key priority for UK businesses and government alike. We look forward to seeing how cyber professionals benefit from this tool and to contributing to the Council’s ongoing work through providing a diverse and future looking range of options to this fast growing and critical profession.”

As a founding member of the UK Cyber Security Council, ISACA is a key supporter of the Council's initiatives. With a 50-year history serving its professional community worldwide, ISACA has established a reputation for delivering cybersecurity and digital trust education and training through its industry acclaimed certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISA, CGEIT, and CDPSE. For those looking to start or advance their careers in cybersecurity, ISACA also offers foundational certificates, including Cyber Security Fundamentals, IT Risk Fundamentals, and IT Audit Fundamentals. In addition, ISACA is relaunching its cyber security lab platform in summer 2023, offering hands-on training in cybersecurity with interactive simulations and exercises to help professionals improve their expertise and stay current with cybersecurity trends and best practices.

"ISACA’s credentials play a key role in supporting our shared goal of developing a skilled and diverse cyber security workforce," added Chris Dimitriadis. "By providing clear guidance on which certifications are relevant to each specialism, the Certification Framework makes it easier for professionals to navigate the complex landscape of cyber security qualifications and to build rewarding careers in this important field.”

The Certification Framework is a living resource that will be updated regularly to cover more cyber security certifications as we develop the tool to reflect changes in the Cyber Security landscape and the evolving needs of the industry.

The Certification Framework is available for viewing on the UK Cyber Security Council's website at http://www.ukcybersecuritycouncil.org.uk/careers-and-learning/certification-framework/.
